I'm wondering if the this is just a freak event or because my map was so old TomTom wanted to tempt me to buy future updates with this 2020 map.įrom my point of view they are welcome to try buy my Garmin is the better Nav device and it comes with free updates. Remeber to copy the USB stick before inserting in the car! So this is interesting in that this map installed is over a year old but 2 years more current than my last paid for update.įorgot to add the only cockup I made was I forgot to copy the update USB stick before updating the car as the process wipes the map data after update. So I plugged the update USB stick in and bingo it was updated to V.1055.10459 T12:00:00
So last night I logged into my TomTom account and it said it wanted to update my device. Then in 2018 I go TomTom offer for a years updates so I took this offer up.

(To date, I've never gotten any mapshare correction updates!) It directs me to the update page, which after a minute says that everything is up to date. Also on the main home page, it tells me that my MapShare updates are out of date (which they are), however it won't let me update the MapShare corrections. Some of the new Home program works, but more often than not, the updater fails. (If they can't figure out how to make the computer-gps control work out, they should make it possible to password protect the gps from within.) Still no computer control of my TomTom ONE LE, just an error that says "this feature is not supported by your device or operating system." This means that it is not possible for me to password protect the gps. This Version, 2.2.0.16, works somewhat, however some things don't work at all. Well, it's better than the old version, which was well outdated even last year.
